Flare Launches "Flare Dash" — Unified Attendance and Telematics Management for Corporate Vehicle Drivers
Flare Inc. (Representative Director: Kazuki Kamiya; hereinafter “Flare”), which develops and operates mobility-related businesses in the Kingdom of Thailand, has launched Flare Dash — a cloud-based service that enables attendance and telematics management for corporate vehicle drivers using only a smartphone. This is the first proprietary service built on Flare Analytics, which captures and analyzes vehicle driving dynamics and driver behavior.
Many Japanese and foreign companies operating in emerging markets provide company cars to locally stationed employees and executives for commuting and business activities, and these vehicles are driven by dedicated drivers. These drivers are often dispatched from staffing agencies, though individual contracts and direct employment are also common, creating a variety of work arrangements. Since conventional attendance management systems used for general employees cannot accommodate driver-specific needs, paper-based and other analog methods remain in widespread use.
The drawbacks of analog management include fraudulent attendance records by drivers (such as inflated working hours) and unauthorized use of company vehicles (such as private use by employees), resulting in improper costs. Data from paper records must also be manually entered for payroll and other calculations, generating unnecessary administrative burden.
With Flare Dash, drivers can clock in and out using only a smartphone and the application. A flexible time-and-attendance system that accommodates location data and special conditions enables streamlined attendance management, fraud prevention, and digitized attendance records. This dramatically reduces both the improper costs that previously occurred and the administrative workload for tasks such as payroll calculation.
Dangerous driving and accidents by drivers are also a significant concern for users. By integrating Flare Dash with Flare Analytics, it becomes possible to visualize and analyze driver behavior and driving dynamics — not only to prevent accidents, but also to quantitatively evaluate, improve, and coach driver skill.
The service has been adopted by TT Marunochi (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a provider of driver dispatch services, and is being used to manage the attendance of 100 drivers dispatched to Toyota Tsusho (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (as of December 1, 2019).
Mr. Takanori Sugimoto, Representative of TT Marunochi (Thailand) Co., Ltd., commented: “Switching from pen-and-paper management to smartphone and online management has significantly reduced our administrative costs.”
Mr. Satoru Ichihara of the Food and Living Industries Division at Toyota Tsusho (Thailand) Co., Ltd. also noted: “We were able to achieve visibility into the working status of our drivers.”
Going forward, we plan to expand Flare Dash beyond corporate vehicle driver attendance and telematics management to serve delivery companies and businesses operating commercial vehicles, while also developing an enhanced version with expanded fleet management capabilities.
